Game Artwork. - Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure.
Rhythm Thief & The Emperor’s Treasure is a Nintendo 3DS Rhythm Puzzle game that came out in 2012. It is one of my favorite 3DS games I have played, and for that reason I wanted to create this Game Artwork based on the Minigame known as R02 - Looting the Louvre.
In this minigame from the game, you will have to help the player known as Phantom R to hide behind these statues in the museum as they have to get to the other side without getting caught by the night guards.
You do so by pressing the correct colored buttons on the touchscreen with the time of the beat to the music of this minigame. There are four types of colors for the buttons & the statues that all showcase different poses Phantom R will strike when you successfully hit the right button in time.
The animation itself is split up in multiple parts all looping correctly with each other, as I wanted to put all parts into a full animation once everything was done! For that I had to work on the normal run animation which is 12 frames long. But since I added some parallax in the background, I had to double the frames up to 24 frames.
For each Statue part of the animation, I had to double the amount of frames from 24 to 48 while also having the “stop” with some more frames adding up to 59 frames per statue.
That means the whole animation with all parts is 260 frames for this animation showcase.
